Fun Run Sponsorship Success!

The BuySpares Fun Run TeamWe’re proud to report that our colleagues who took part in the Great Midlands Fun Run have so far raised over £2700 – and counting! This sponsorship money will be donated to our chosen charity, the John Taylor Hospice in Birmingham.

Our team of 32 colleagues participated in the 8.5 mile fun run, managing to overcome unprecedented setbacks in the form of twisted ankles and being repeatedly hampered by a man dressed as a banana. The sun was out and a great time was had by all – see our team pictured fresh-faced with the Mayor of Birmingham before they set off!

BuySpares organise events throughout the year to raise funds for the John Taylor Hospice, an organisation which helps patients with life threatening illnesses and also provides support to their families. It celebrated its 100th anniversary last year and serves a population of over 400,000 in and around the Birmingham area. If you’d like to know more please visit www.johntaylorhospicelof.org.uk/

So we think a big ‘Well Done’ is in order for all of our plucky participants. Stay tuned to our blog to find out what else we get up to throughout 2011!
