BuySpares Team Trek for Charity
July 16, 2013 | What are we up to? | No comments
We have been doing fundraising events to raise money for the John Taylor Hospice for several years and we have even made it possible for our customers to also support this great cause through Pennies. Earlier this month some members of the BuySpares team helped raise more than £5000 by taking part in TrekFest!
TrekFest was undoubtedly the most challenging fundraiser yet. The grueling challenge involved trekking more than 27 miles across unforgiving terrain on one of the hottest days of the year so far! The hike, which started and finished in the village of Hope Valley, included some of the most breathtaking and visually stunning scenery the Peak District National Park has to offer.
Our Ongoing Support For the John Taylor Hospice
The John Taylor Hospice is a Birmingham-based charity that provides a range of quality specialist medical, nursing, clinical and social care services for people with life-threatening illnesses in a caring and friendly environment. We have a long-standing relationship with the charity and Trekfest is just the latest in a range of fund raising activities that have also included bake-offs and ‘It’s a knockout’ competitions.
Our customers are even able to get involved through the Pennies system. This innovative bit of software enables customers to round up their purchase total and donate the extra few pennies to the John Taylor Hospice as well as other worthy causes every time they buy an essential spare part or accessory.
Congratulations To All Our Trekkers!
