This first recipe makes suet wreaths to hang on trees around your garden. Suet is a high energy food predominantly made up of animal fats. Since birds metabolism rates are extremely fast, this is a great source of heat and energy for them.

This is the simplest project out of our list. It involves only 2 ingredients and takes about 10 minutes. It involves using old lamp shades, you would normally throw out, and string. It transforms them into beautiful orb bird feeders you can hang from trees in your garden. You will need:

This DIY bird feeder recipe helps you recycle your own paint cans too. It creates fun and colourful hanging bird feeders for your garden. You will need:

• 3 Small paint cans
• Wooden dowel
• Finch food
• Hummingbird feeder
• Hummingbird food

Orange Bird Feeder – Donuts, Dresses and Dirt

Birds will love the smell of oranges mixed in with the bird feed. This is such a simple fun DIY bird feeder. You can make plenty of these and hang them all around the garden to attract and feed the birds. You will need:

• 1 Orange
• (4) Pieces of string, cut into 24″ lengths
• Bird seed

Cookie Cutter Feeders – Eighteen 25

This recipe looks like you are making cookies. Use cookie moulds you have to craft a bird seed mixture into funky shapes, that you can hang from bushes and trees in your garden. You will need:

• 3/4 Cup bird seed
• 1/4 Cup water
• 1 Sachet of gelatine
• Twine or string
• Cookie cutters, molds or mason jar lids
• Wax paper

Toilet Roll Bird Feeders – Play From Scratch

This recipe is a great one for the kids to get involved with. It can get a bit messy but, if you make sure you set up a station outside, then it will be easier to clean up, and you won’t have bird seed all over your house. You will need:

• 1 Toilet paper roll
• 1 Jar of peanut butter
• 1 Small bowl
• 1 plate
• A plastic knife
• Birdseed
