Flymo Cordless Trimmers: Safety Recall

Safety Recall - Flymo Contour TrimmersIf you’ve purchased a Flymo Contour Cordless XT or a Flymo Contour Cordless 500XT in 2011, you may not be aware that a safety recall notice has been issued due to a potential fault with the charger that is supplied with these products.

This fault may result in the outer cover of the charger becoming detached, which will expose the internal live parts. This is dangerous and potentially fatal, and so Flymo are endeavouring to recall as many of these chargers as possible.

Flymo have advised that, if you do own one of these trimmers, you should switch it off immediately at the mains supply and remove the charger from the socket, taking care not to touch any of the internal parts.

You can then register for a FREE replacement charger by filling out the Flymo Recall Form or calling the Freephone Helpline 0800 0237232

You will also be provided with instructions of how to return your original charger to Flymo.

Please note that this fault does not affect the trimmers themselves and no other Flymo models are affected.

I purcased one of these stimmers in april and was very pleased with the performance,i came to cherge the battery and then i noticed that it was not charging. I returned the item and they said they would have to have it all back i said could you not just change the charger this was not company policy they went to get another one of the shelf then i was told that they had been withdrawn of the market due to a health and safety issue. I end up with no trimmer.then i have just seen your report regarding the problem i could have got another charger of you which would have solved the problem. How do i get another trimmer at the price i paid witch was £ 49 99?
