Make It Look Like You're Home, When You're NotIf you’re going away for the weekend or on a longer holiday, then a security timer plug is a great way to make it look like someone is still at home. These handy devices can be used to switch items such as TVs, radios and lamps on and off at pre-programmed times.

Home security is a big concern and leaving your home unattended can be a scary prospect. There are lots of things you can do to make your home feel more secure while you’re away enjoy the holiday sun. These include security alarm systems, lighting and deterrents – such as leaving the TV or radio on.

Timer plugs enable you to create the illusion that the house is occupied and they can be set up in multiple rooms in order to give the feel that you are moving around all time. Typically you may choose to set up timer plugs on:

• Lamps
• Televisions
• Radios

The number of home burglaries traditionally spike in the summer months. I think that light timers and Fake TV are excellent solutions to deter burglars. Also, playing anti-theft home occupancy sounds MP3 or a CD in home while away is a great way to scare burglar that someone is in.
